Types of Matter Reports
There are several reports that you may run on the Matters Report depending on how you want the information to be presented in Docketwise.
Matters Over Time
The Matter Over Time report displays data related to Matters created over time on your Docketwise account.
Displaying Data From: Matters
Results Organized By: Displayed in reverse-chronological order
Primary Columns: Tittle, Client, Description, Updated, Priority date status, Assignees, Type, and Status.
Additional Available Columns: Applicant, Preference category, and Priority date
Filters Available: Matter types, Matter Statuses, Active or Archived, Assignees, Date created, Late Status, and Filter by attributes (available only to Pro/Advanced subscribers)
Matters by Type
The Matters by type report displays data related to matter type on your Docketwise account.
Displaying Data From: Matters
Results Organized By: Displayed in reverse-chronological order
Primary Columns: Tittle, Client, Description, Updated, Priority date status, Assignees, Type, and Status.
Additional Available Columns: Applicant, Preference category, and Priority date

The Matters by status report displays data related to matters on your Docketwise account and is separated by the status with which it is related.

Matters by preference category
The Matter by preference category report displays data related to your firm's matters that are included by each preference category.
Displaying Data From: Matters
Results Organized By: Displayed in reverse-chronological order
Primary Columns: Tittle, Client, Description, Updated, Priority date status, Assignees, Type, and Status.
Additional Available Columns: Applicant, Preference category, and Priority date
Filters Available: Matter types, Matter Status, Active or Archive, Assignees, Date created, Late Status, and Filter by attributes (available only to Pro/Advanced subscribers)
Creating a Matter Report
To run a Matter report, you will need to follow the steps below:
From the Docketwise dashboard, click the Create New ▼ button
Choose the Report option
Choose the Matter category
Choose the specific matter report that you would like to create
Applying Filters to Matter Reports
Once you have created a new report, you can add filters to your report. The filters available will vary depending on the report being run.
In order to use a filter, simply select the filters that you would like to apply and click the Update button.
Adding Custom Columns to Matter Reports
All the different Matter Reports can be customized.
In order to start customizing your Reports, you will first need to:
Navigate to the Report Type that you would like to customize
Click the ⚙️ Gear Icon
After clicking on the ⚙️ Gear Icon, you can then edit your Dashboard's columns by
Adding columns
Removing columns
Reordering columns
Adding Columns in Matter Reports
To add a column to a report, simply check the box on the left side of the column’s name under Available Columns and save your changes.
Removing Columns in Matter Reports
To remove a column from the Dashboard, simply uncheck the box on the left side of the column’s name under Selected Columns and save your changes.
Reordering Columns in Matter Reports
To reorder your columns for the Dashboard, simply drag and drop the column values under Selected Columns and save your changes.
Exporting a Matter Report to a CSV File
After you have created a matter report, you are able to export it to a CSV file, which can then be saved.
In order to export the report, you will simply click the Export button, which will download the report to a CSV file.
