USCIS Two-Step Verification

Updated over 2 weeks ago

If you already have a USCIS Authentication app set up or don't remember the OTP Key, you will need to reset this verification.

Follow the steps below to successfully sync your DocketWise account with USCIS.

  • Choose the option to use an Authentication App and click the Submit button

  • The QR code would be displayed, click the link that says "What if I can't scan a QR code?"

  • A window will pop up, with the email and a key. Copy the long alphanumeric code, that would be the Key for the App Authentication Manual Entry modal, save it and close the modal. We recommend securely saving this Key/OTP Secret within a document or writing it down as well, since you will need it later.

  • Now that you saved the OTP Key, open the authenticator app of your choice on your mobile device, select the option to add a new app, and scan the QR code from the screen (even if you already set up an authenticator app with your my.uscis.gov account, you still need to complete this step in order for this to work correctly)

  • Now enter the 6-digits OTP code from your authenticator app in the field for Secure verification code in the USCIS website

  • Click the β€œSubmit” button.

  • Go back to your form in DocketWise, click the blue button that says β€œe-File this form on my.uscis.gov”

  • Manually type in the email and password you use to log in to your USCIS online account and enter the OTP code (Key) in the field for my.uscis.gov OTP Secret (This would be the long alphanumeric code saved previously)

  • Click the "Sync" button to start syncing your submission.
