Important Notice
Telecom providers across the United States require all businesses utilizing Application-to-Person (A2P) text messaging to complete a carrier approval process for continued service. See 2-Way SMS Messaging below to learn more.
Additionally, firms must obtain and document explicit client consent before sending automated or manual SMS/Text Message notifications (such as form invitations, reminders, and updates) through the platform.
2-Way SMS Messaging
If your firm utilizes 2-way SMS messaging within Docketwise, you are required to submit your organization's official business details to maintain compliance with telecom carriers.
Upon accessing the feature, an in-app popup form will prompt you for this information.
Accuracy Matters: Please ensure all business details match your official public records (such as your EIN or business registration), as telecom carriers manually verify these details and will reject applications with minor inconsistencies.
Administrative Access: The registration form must be completed by an Admin User on the Docketwise account.
Processing Time: The carrier approval process can take several weeks. We will notify you via the platform once your firm has been fully approved.
Client Consent for SMS Notifications
To comply with carrier regulations, clients must provide explicit consent before they can receive SMS notifications generated by Docketwise.
Existing Contacts: Contacts added prior to the regulatory enforcement are grandfathered in as consented by default unless they choose to opt out.
New Contacts: Any new contact added to your Docketwise account must complete the standard consent workflow before SMS features become active for their profile.
Firms should utilize the built-in intake and consent guide features to seamlessly capture this authorization during the client onboarding process. If you have any compliance or setup questions, please reach out to the support team at team@docketwise.com.
