Opt-in for SMS Notifications with DocketWise

Overview

In DocketWise, each individual firm user can choose to opt in or out of SMS notifications. These settings control whether notifications are sent for:

  • Event/Expiry Date Reminders

  • E-Signature Invitations

Additionally, firm clients invited to participate in their process also control their SMS preferences. Their opt-in settings affect notifications for:

  • Electronic questionnaire invitations

  • Invoice sharing

  • E-Signature Invitations

Attorney/Firm User Opt-in Settings

This section explains how an attorney or firm user can opt in or out of receiving SMS notifications in DocketWise. These settings control whether notifications are sent for:

  • Event/Expiry Date Reminders

  • E-Signature Invitations

Opt-in for SMS notifications

By default, SMS notifications are disabled. To opt in, follow the steps below:

  1. Under the Mobile Phone Number field, check the box for I consent to receiving SMS reminders from DocketWise

  2. Save your changes by clicking the Save Details button in the top-right corner of the screen or the Save and Return to Dashboard button at the end of the screen

Opt-out of SMS notifications

If you previously opted in but want to stop receiving SMS notifications from DocketWise, follow the steps below:

  1. Under the Mobile Phone Number field, uncheck the box for I consent to receiving SMS reminders from DocketWise

  2. Save your changes by clicking the Save Details button in the top-right corner of the screen or the Save and Return to Dashboard button at the end of the screen


Client User Opt-in Settings

This section explains how a client user can opt in or out of receiving SMS notifications in DocketWise. It also covers how an attorney or firm user can send the consent form to a client so they can opt in.

These settings control whether SMS notifications are sent for:

  • Event/Expiry Date Reminders

  • E-Signature Invitations

Sending out the SMS Opt-In Consent Form

For a client to opt in to SMS notifications, an attorney or firm user must first send the SMS Opt-In Consent Form. The form can be shared by email or direct link.

Via email:

In order to send this form out via email, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the client's profile to whom you will be sending the SMS Opt-In Consent Form

  2. Open the Phone Numbers tab of the client's profile

  3. Click the Request Consent option under the client's mobile phone number

  4. Select Email as the request medium

  5. Enter/confirm the client's email address

  6. Click the Send Request button

Via direct link:

If you'd like to send the form using a direct link, here are the steps to do so:

  1. Navigate to the client's profile to whom you will be sending the SMS Opt-In Consent Form

  2. Open the Phone Numbers tab of the client's profile

  3. Click the Request Consent option under the client's mobile phone number

  4. Select Direct link as the request medium

  5. Click the Copy Direct Link button to copy the link

  6. Share the direct link with the client

Opt-in for SMS notifications

If you are a client that wist to opt in to SMS notifications from DocketWise, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the DocketWise Request for SMS Consent form (shared either via email or a direct link)

  2. Verify the phone number listed in the form is correct

  3. Check the box for I consent to receiving SMS messages for my immigration case

  4. Click the Submit button

After consenting to SMS notifications, you’ll receive a confirmation text along with instructions on how to opt out.

Opt-out of SMS notifications

If you previously opted in but want to stop SMS notifications from DocketWise, simply reply “Stop” in the text thread where you receive them.
